Comfort Starts Before Your Boudoir Photoshoot Starts: Zoom Consultation
You know what might be awkward? Meeting your boudoir photographer in person/face to face for the first time ever, at your actual session. Questions would most likely flood your mind: 'What happens now?' and 'How will she know what I like for my photos?' and 'Will she help me pose?' and 'Will my photos be private?'.... and so much more.
Now that we've established what awkward might look like: you can relax.
In working with me as your boudoir photographer, we always meet on a Zoom Session Design Consultation first and foremost. So by the time you photo session arrives, we're not strangers, we're budding friends, knowing a lot about you -- and about how I can help deliver on your vision to create not just gorgeous photos of you, but an experience you will love looking back on.
In that Zoom session we don't just cover my most frequently asked questions but also answer all of your questions, no matter how many there are or how insignificant you think they might be. To me, answering all of your questions is important because knowing what to expect and how to prepare, that's when your comfort starts - and so does the excitement about doing the session!
From there, we discuss your unique vision for the photoshoot, your aesthetic, what you find alluring, what to wear that photographs great for your body type, location, hair and makeup looks, pampering and self care (from hydrating and nourishing to stretching, skin care, mani/pedi and so much more!).
We talk about music to get your head in the right headspace for the session.
We delve into what you love about your body and want to celebrate, and what you would like to love more - and how we address that with posing and lighting and proper outfits.
All of that, and so much more!
Comfort During Your Boudoir Photoshoot: Posing You From Head To Toe
All the photos on my website are of non-model boudoir clients just like you! So how do they look so comfortable?
We already established that comfort starts before the session even begins. And, while clients do report being a blend of nervous and excited before their boudoir session starts, all of the nervousness melts away within the first few minutes and total excitement takes over! And yes, we giggle, a lot.
For one, I pose you from head to toe: you never have to worry about not knowing how to do it, that is my job to get right. Unlike the experience of one client who'd previously photographed with another photographer (and didn't look back fondly on her session) who told her to 'look sexy' -- how awkward is that! -- my prompts are a step by step instruction on small movements on what to do with your eyes, lips, hands, back, toes, and even what to think about (hint: your favorite desert) to bring out your allure naturally.
Furthermore, I show you the back of the camera -- so you know that no matter how awkward a pose might feel while doing it, it's looking gorgeous in the camera. And you, you are looking gorgeous in your photos. And once that is established, you can relax and just has fun being a superstar model for the day!
More Comfort & Confidence During Your Boudoir Photoshoot: Your Private Safe Space
Ninety nine percent of my clients have never done a boudoir photoshoot before. That one percent who have? For the most part, they report having done a session before and while the photos came out ok, they did not love the experience because of another awkward factor: the photographer had at least one other person present in the room while photographing - either the hair and makeup artist or an assistant. Talk about un-nerving!
Conversely, when photographing with me, your time at the photo session is your private safe space for you to shine confidently -- without playing to anyone's attention but your own, or worrying that there are others in the room and what they are thinking about you.
Be assured, during our boudoir session together, It's just you and I and no other lookie-loos. I don't require an assistant and your hair and makeup will stay so well in place when my artist is done, I will always encourage you to have a date on the town after your boudoir session!
Trust me, you will feel so much more confident rocking your session knowing that the only person in the room is me, your photographer, there to support you and cheer you on!
